house plot

Construction begininng in 2009. This house sitting in open countryside with spectacular views over the Galloway hills is expressed as separate buildings to break up the large amount of accomodation. The main two-storey element contains the principal living and bedroom areas with links at each end to a guest wing/garage and a swimming pool.

The house provides contemporary open plan spaces within a traditional form. It is finished in white render with sandstone features, stone walls and a slated roof.

Although large in area the structure will be very highly insulated to Passive House Standards and the aim is to create a zero carbon home using a wind turbine and other sustainable construction technology.
