Conversion of a former plumber’s workshop into a family dwelling in the Gatehouse-of-Fleet conservation area. The existing slate roof and painted brickwork of the existing building forms a 'shell' for the new accommodation comprising 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 'gallery' stair and open plan living / dining / kitchen space opening onto a small terrace.
The restricted site and sensitive location demanded an imaginative response. The client's brief included a number of bespoke joinery items such as feature shelves for artworks and built-in storage to make efficient use of space. |
