conchieton house, borgue

The existing Grade B Listed house was in a very poor state of repair and required complete renovation. The layout of the house was re-configured to give a main entrance on one end with the principal living rooms, kitchen and bedrooms occupying the main part of the house and the smaller lean-to extension to the rear became the main circulation and service zone containing bathrooms, utility etc.

Externally the original openings have largely been retained and some added to match. The roof was re-slated with Welsh slates to match the original and sandstone dressings were stripped to reveal the original stone. New draught proof sash and case windows replaced the existing and the masonry walls were re-rendered with lime render.
